New artists often feel afraid to paint with watercolor. Usually, the perception is that watercolor is difficult and unforgiving. Even more experienced artists feel intimidated too.
But, with some basic easily mastered techniques, watercolor painting is accessible to anyone.
In addition to knowing watercolor technique, being open to practice and having a willingness to learn from every effort is the great secret to conquering hesitation and achieving a satisfying result.
Even if we’re not completely happy with our results, we gain a great sense of freedom if each painting project is approached as a study and not a masterpiece. When we finish one study we embrace what we’ve learned, and move on to the next project.

This class is divided in two parts, an introduction to watercolor materials and a demonstration of a few basic watercolor techniques through the painting of a landscape of mountains reflected in water.

You will also learn an easy drawing technique, make watercolor gradations, and work in transparent layers.
