Circular Paintings -Artists Share Their Meaningful Worlds

Circular Paintings -Artists Share Their Meaningful Worlds post image

This is a collage highlight of the Meaningful World in a Circle  prompt presented in a previous post. I enjoyed that so many people were inspired to draw and paint within a circle, and accompany their images with personal stories of why their particular circular painting was meaningful.

In the photograph above I highlight the circular artwork of the following artists:

@maluvaspics@chaninehameetman_illustrations •@ireneontheroof

@kimberlyshawgraphics@safrana_m@enricdebargas

@flittingmind@monicartoons • @jessica_sporn

In addition to the nine chosen as highlights for my Instagram feed, I’ve added three more highlights here on my blog.

@35over@lucielivesart • @same.old.black

All entries may be seen on Instagram under the tag #IfDrawAWeek51.

For me, painting in a circle was a step out of my confort zone. I decided to challenge myself and make more than one circular painting. In addition to painting my little kitty in a circle, here I share my other worlds-in-a-circle as well.

I painted this White Dove Embracing the world in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. a true and most honorable world hero who advocated non-violent civil resistance as a way to combat racial inequality.

“What we find when we enter these mortal plains of existence is the raw material out of which all life must be created. A productive and happy life is not something you find; it is something you make” ~Martin Luther King Jr.

One of my worlds is my dearest family, represented in this circular painting by five-year-old Emilio, my youngest nephew who lives in Colombia and dreams of seeing the snow. I wonder how his sweet and innocent world will develop. I wonder what kind of world children will inherit from us.

I love the world of playing with color and shape. Painting and folding paper allow me into that world. This circular painting was inspired on a pentagonal origami flower I designed and showed on Origami Spirit.

One of the worlds I like to visit is the online world of global connection. I have met wonderful people with whom I share common interests and with whom I have become friends. I feel lucky and grateful to have access to technology that makes this connection possible.

Sending love and good vibes to all of you who share your work and life stories online. May we all be able to extend bridges hold hands together and work through our differences.
